MARBLE VS. MANMADE QUARTZ

If you are trying to decide whether or not to use a manmade Quartz product or Mother nature’s Marble this post is for you.

Before choosing my own kitchen countertops I read the following  blog post, and I found them to be very helpful because they offered  good solid information.

I like to talk to the people that are down in the trenches with me, so to speak.

I emailed several of these bloggers that had chosen the manmade Quartz products, and they were all very helpful in answering some of my questions, and concerns that ranged from background color, veining color, and veining pattern, as well as maintenance.

Details are very important to me so I think I covered all the bases before making my final decision as you can read in my previous post, CLICK HERE.

Below you will read about the three manmade Quartz products I was interested in as well as Carrara marble.

If you are not familiar with manmade quartz products
be sure to read the following……..

Quartz is a manmade product made with crushed quartz and resin. Go HERE to read more about quartz and the different manufactures.
In this post I will be referring to three  products by Cambria, and Silestone.

Last but not least, Mother Nature’s product!

MARBLE:

I hope that all of the above, hands on research is helpful to any of you out in blogland that are trying to make this very hard decision.

It really comes down to being totally honest about the following…….

  • How will the countertops be used.
  • How well will you be about cleaning and maintaining your countertops.
  • Overall design aesthetics, color, movement, style.

Keep all of the above in mind when choosing your product and be totally honest with yourself!

Good Luck!!!

BTW: Here is another article of low maintenance counter tops that a reader told me about. It has 7 other recommendations for countertops......

I thought Joan's (for the love of a house) post was spot on regarding marble. I always tell clients nothing is "totally stain resistant". It is all a matter of natural vs. unnatural in my opinion. This was a great post!
